~~~Important SEPTA meeting~~~
At our next meeting on March 20 at 4:30, there will be a big announcement. Four of the executive board members will be resigning as we want to create an independent parent group that will operate exactly as the SEPTA had but there will be no dues to pay. We will continue on in with the same features as SEPTA like including meetings, presentations, family get togethers, etc.
The reason for this change is that the PTA has some rules and regulations that limit the type of activities that can be sponsored. Since a big part of what is important to us here locally is advocacy and education regarding special ed laws and operation, we feel that can best be done with an independent group. We are very excited to be bringing some interesting presentations in the near future.
Please come to the meeting next week to hear about the changes and help us create a strong, parent-driven group. We welcome parents, teachers, administrators and community members to be a part of our group so that we can all work together to help so that families can get the information they need to ensure their childrens' success!!!
The first few moments of the meeting time will deal with the resignations and then we will immediately begin as the new group.
The meeting will be in the same place:
Sutter Surgery and Maternity Center, 2900 Chanticleer Ave, Santa Cruz
in the main floor meeting room
Any questions, please call Susie Christensen 831-234-2882
